Senior Member Training
Who's it For?
Any young person aged 13 - 19 years who is doing something helpful or responsible for their organisation, group or the wider community e.g. Member's Committee, Youth Club volunteer or Youth Council.
What is it?
A 10 session course with prepared exercises and games which covers similar topics to the introductory Youth Work Training Course, often delivered as a residential.
The course is accredited by Open college Network South West Region (OCNSW), but is delivered in a young person friendly way.
How long does it take?
You need to allow 30 hours, which includes 5 hours course work and an activity. This can be delivered once a week, as a residential or a combination of full days and single sessions.
Who Tutors the Course?
One of the quality and Development Team will co-tutor the course with you the first time you offer it to young people.
What are the materials?
A combination of printed exercises, flipchart sheets for group responses and craft boxes to encourage creativity. Outdoor activities are alos used.
Is there a Cost?
Yes, to cover the OCNSW registration and the printing of the course handbooks.
